We’ve had a lot of customers come in looking for weed in Snoqualmie but with one caveat: they don’t want to smoke. Even though many people enjoy smoking and even get therapeutic benefits from the effects, it still involves inhaling smoke—which is not good for the lungs. So what options are there for someone who still wants to get high or use cannabis but doesn’t want to smoke? Fortunately, there are many! Here are some smoke-free cannabis options that still hit.
Edibles
Eating cannabis is a great choice for anyone who wants to get high or relief without smoking. With so many edible options on the market, there’s something for everyone.
Edible products are infused with cannabis. But unlike the homemade brownies and firecrackers of the past, they are highly sophisticated today. Many edibles provide targeted effects for specific needs.
In general, edibles take effect anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours after consumption. If you’re trying a new edible product, you should always eat a small amount and wait at least an hour before eating any more to prevent getting too high. In general, the effects can last anywhere from six to eight hours.
Technology has advanced, though, and some products are considered fast-acting. These can take effect anywhere from five to 30 minutes after consumption. This option is a little bit closer to the effects of smoking cannabis, as the weed hits quicker and wears off quicker than traditional edibles.
You can get gummies, beverages, chocolates, and many other options–all infused with different dosages of THC, CBD, and other good stuff. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff at our Snoqualmie weed store are happy to help you find the right edibles to fit your smoke-free cannabis needs.
Tinctures
Many people come into our shop looking for smoke-free cannabis in Snoqualmie and end up leaving with tinctures. They’re a great option for anyone who doesn’t want to eat infused products, especially with extra ingredients and additives.
You can swallow tinctures or mix them into food or beverages. They take effect similarly to edibles, somewhere within 30 minutes to two hours. Tinctures are handy because they can be added to many different foods and drinks or taken alone.
Tinctures can take effect in just 15 minutes or so if taken sublingually. This means placing the desired dose under the tongue and allowing it to absorb for about a minute and then swallowing the remaining contents. By doing this, the cannabis compounds absorb into receptors under the tongue, bypassing the liver and going straight to the bloodstream. This option makes tinctures a wonderful smoke-free way to get high or find relief quickly.
Vapes
While vapes still involve inhalation, they don’t produce smoke. Instead, they produce a vapor. Using vapes may feel similar to smoking, but they are considered a smoke-free option because they don’t involve, well, smoking.
What’s the difference between vaping and smoking? As far as effects go, they’re pretty similar. Smoking and vaping both send THC and other molecules straight to the lungs, which allows them to absorb into the bloodstream quickly. That’s why both methods can take effect within moments of inhalation.
But when it comes down to the specifics, they are very different. Smoke comes from combustion, which produces some of the same toxins as cigarette smoke. While cannabis products don’t contain all of the additives and toxins included in cigarettes, it’s still not technically healthy for the lungs to smoke anything.
While we don’t have enough definitive evidence to know for sure if vaping is safer than smoking, we do know that vapes don’t produce combustion, which is what leads to many of the toxins in smoke. Instead, vapes get hot enough to produce a vapor without ever burning. This is why vaping is generally considered safer than smoking.
Topicals
Topical products don’t get users high, but they are a good option for anyone who wants a smoke-free cannabis option. You can roll topicals onto achy joints or muscles for relief. Infused lotions can also be used to moisturize the skin or potentially reduce inflammation.
