This year, our North Bend area dispensary celebrated 4/20 and our anniversary with a party in our parking lot. But there’s another cannabis holiday out there, and it’s been gaining traction over the years as more people choose to vape and dab their weed: 710. So, what is 7/10?
710 means OIL
In honor of all cannabis concentrates, the 710 holiday always falls on July 10, or 7/10. But why that day?
Take “710” and flip it upside down. It spells “OIL.” It’s as simple as that. The term “710” has become synonymous with cannabis concentrates, similar to how 4/20 has become an all-around slang term for cannabis.
Although it’s gained traction over the years, 710 remains more of a holiday for those “in the know,” like cannabis enthusiasts and industry workers. It’s a day for brands and dispensaries to offer killer deals and for enthusiasts to celebrate with the best concentrates around.
Much like the true origins of 4/20, we don’t know the exact background story behind the term “710.” We do know that it became popular somewhere in the 2010s, around the time that dabbing became more popularized.
